Jill Benn, University Librarian at the University of Western Australia has been elected as Chair of the Board 2019 - 2021, she will be taking over from the outgoing chair Margie Jantti, University Librarian at the University of Wollongong on the 1st October. Bob Gerrity, University Librarian at Monash University has been re-elected to serve another two year term starting October 1st.

In June 2019 Standards Australia released a discussion paper seeking community feedback on the development of a new distribution and licencing model. The model is being designed to deliver greater reach, allowing more choice in how content is accessed and to support its public benefit role in the economy.
