CAUL Business

When: 9am AWST (12pm AEDT) 5 February 2020
Where: Online by zoom

I’d like to invite you and your colleagues to join in this webinar which will be of interest to all academic and cultural institutions who see email archives in their archives and special collections in the future. Email is the correspondence of our day and personal correspondence continues to inform and enrich the archival collections of significant individuals. However taking email into an archive or collection presents new challenges and will require new solutions if we are to retain personal correspondence for future research.

Peter Chan is a digital archivist from Stanford University Libraries and the project manager of the ePADD project.

With the support of the Fulbright Specialist program he is currently a visiting specialist at the National Library of New Zealand and keynote speaker and workshop presenter at their Archiving Email Symposium.

Peter has kindly agreed to talk in this webinar about the challenges of email archives and demonstrate the ePADD software that supports the appraisal, processing, preservation, discovery, and delivery of historical email archives. He will be presenting this webinar from Wellington.
