CLOCKSS Update

Wednesday, 20 July 2022

Please join us for an update on the CLOCKSS digital preservation service.

CLOCKSS

CLOCKSS is a community governed and supported digital preservation archive for scholarly content. Since 2006, research libraries and scholarly publishers around the world have collaborated to provide the CLOCKSS service. We preserve content licensed or funded by libraries in 12 archive nodes at leading academic institutions worldwide. We have been entrusted with the authoritative versions of over 48.5 million journal articles, 360,000 books, and a growing collection of supplementary materials and metadata.

Speakers

Roxanne Missingham is the University Librarian at The Australian National University which hosts one of the CLOCKSS nodes and she is a member of the Board. She has held roles with the National Library, CSIRO, Australian Nature Conservation Agency and the Parliamentary Library before returning to her university alma mater.

Alicia Wise is Executive Director of CLOCKSS and has been active in increasing access to research information for 20 years in roles within both the library and publishing communities. She is well known for her work to facilitate a worldwide transition to Open Access, but began her career at the Archaeology Data Service.

CAUL Procurement has had a long-standing partnership with CLOCKSS.  CLOCKSS has been supportive of CAUL members during the pandemic, and we look forward to working with this organisation in future.  The webinar may be of particular interest to anyone on campus interested in collections or their long-term preservation, so please forward this email as needed.
