• Review of the Extension of Legal Deposit. The examination of the legal deposit scheme is being undertaken jointly by the Attorney-General’s Department and the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. Closing Date for Submissions is 11 January 2008.

• Review of Personal Property Securities.  The Standing Committee of Attorneys-General has decided, at the suggestion of the Australian Attorney-General, the Hon Philip Ruddock MP, to review the law on personal property securities.

• On 11 April 2006, SCAG released an option paper for public consultation.  The options paper invites comment by 2 June 2006 on whether the law on personal property securities should be changed so that registration is based on whether the substance of the transaction is to take a security over personal property, and also on what should be the key design features of a personal property securities register.
