  • The Future focus, 2013 National Workforce Development Strategy is the Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency’s second National Workforce Development Strategy.  (AU)

  • Book Industry Collaborative Council.  The Australian Government announced the establishment of the Council on 25 June 2012 in response to a recommendation from the Book Industry Strategy Group.  It will focus on improving efficiency in the Australian Book Industry’s supply chains.  (AU)

  • Lending rights.  Modernisation process. The BISG final report recommended that, following work by Australian publishers to clarify the business model for the use of ebooks in libraries, the Government should establish a framework and guidelines for how ebooks may become a part of the Public Lending Right (PLR) and Educational Lending Right (ELR) schemes.  The Department of Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport (the Department) is working on a comprehensive assessment of the PLR and ELR schemes.   (AU)
