The first attachment shows
what
we will be publishing in the first half of 2009, annotated to indicate
whether each book in included in e-Duke Books in its entirety or not; we
should have the complete list of 2009 titles in late December or early

The second attachment shows
all
the books Duke University Press is publishing in 2008, with occasional
omissions explained (if we were unable to obtain electronic rights to a
table, an image, or a chapter, for example). We publish about 115 new books
each year, and we guarantee that e-Duke Books will include at least 100
new books each year; the 2008 collection includes 113 new e-books. (23/9/08)
The third attachment lists
all
750 DUP backlist titles that are currently available on ebrary. That
number should grow to over 900 by January 1. Current customers receive

Institutions
retain perpetual access to content from years for which they have paid.
Access to all twenty-nine journals in the collection includes the 2007
issues as they are published, as well as all available issues from the
2000–2006 volumes.
Consortial
Discounts: Consortia will receive a 5% discount on collection renewal
orders. For new orders, consortia are eligible for a one-time 10% discount.
Post-sales commission will no longer be offered. Commissions may be taken
off the total amount paid unless other arrangements have been made.
Price
Cap Eligibility for 2005 e-Duke Scholarly Collection Subscribers: As
a result of the change in the pricing structure from the original 2005
pricing, Duke University Press will continue to offer a cap on the 2007
price increase at $500 per year for 2005 e-Duke Scholarly Collection subscribers.
Site
License: Institutions who have already signed a site license for the e-Duke
Scholarly Collection will not need to send a license each time they
renew.
Print
Add-On Pricing: Subscribers to the e-Duke Scholarly Collection may add
or continue print subscriptions for any of the journals included in the
collection at rates steeply discounted from the ordinary print subscription
prices. This discount depends on an institution’s Tier or World Bank status.

Other titles in the Duke electronic-only package include American Literary Scholarship, Common Knowledge, Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa and the Middle East, Eighteenth-Century Life, GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies, Labor: Studies in Working-Class History of the Americas (new in 2004), Mediterranean Quarterly, Pedagogy, positions: east asia cultures critique, and Social Science History.
We will offer the Duke electronic-only journal package at 16% of the price paid for the 2004 full package of Project Muse (we will need to see proof of the price paid in 2004). This price is based on the portion of the package that could be attributed to Duke University Press content, calculated by such measures as number of pages, usage statistics, and share of the total package price. We are happy to work with consortia to arrange access to Duke journals.
To address archival concerns, Duke University Press will be launching a comprehensive electronic package in 2006.

Last summer Duke University Press created and made available free to print subscribers a digital version of Duke Mathematical Journal (DMJ) (http://www.dukemathjournal.org/). We would now like to make this digital version more widely available by offering it to institutions that do not subscribe to the print version. We have therefore developed a plan to offer it to library consortia on a discounted basis. We would appreciate your feedback on the model we have put together. We want to make sure this plan will work for you, and we would value your input, especially since we see this model as a potential prototype for Project Euclid, a joint project with Cornell University Library to put mathematical journals online.
We understand that consortia generally acquire bundles of journals to market to their constituents, but we believe that the prestige of Duke Mathematical Journal-and the massive discounts we are offering to consortia (up to 62% off print subscription)-will make it attractive to institutions that might not otherwise have access to it.

similar to that of Project MUSE; discounts on subscriptions to the digital
version of Duke Mathematical Journal would depend on the number of subscribing
institutions (and would be negotiable for small institutions). The base

this year to the digital version of Duke Mathematical Journal will have
access through the end of 2002, or two years for the price of one. At that
point, we will need to re-assess the pricing structure because the journal
will be housed at Project Euclid.

check out the DMJ web site. Samples of past volumes are viewable by nonsubscribers,
as is the site license. (Access to 2001 volumes is limited to subscribers
who have returned the site license.)
Beginning with Volume 109, DMJ will feature a design (in pdf format) optimized for computer screen viewing, and each article will have bookmarks linked to article sections. All cross references (to sections, equations, theorems, and citations) will be hyperlinks for quick navigation around the document. Further, the reference list at the end of each article will have links to the American Mathematical Society's MathSciNet database for each item for which there is a corresponding record. The full text for many of these citations will available with one click from the AMS page. In addition, each reference will list the pages where that reference is cited in the paper.
Because many of these features
use either color or required a resizing of "the page", the screen version
is not entirely suitable for printing. A separate version for printing
locally will also be available.
