Offer to CEIRC 1st March, 2001
Brown University's Women Writers Project is an online, full-text database of pre-Victorian womens writing in English.

The Women Writers Online textbase is a collection of primary source, rare works selected with the aim of presenting texts which are hard to find in print.  The collection is broadly interdisciplinary, covering a wide range of genres and topics.  The texts are encoded in SGML, providing exceptional search capabilities, yet at the same time the textbase is easy to use even for those unfamiliar with online resources.  Our licensees include not only universities but also institutions like the Boston Public Library as well as individual users.

We offer a free 30 day trial for interested institutions so librarians and their patrons can experience the textbase first hand.  We offer a basic consortial discount of 25% and the discount increases to 35% if 15 schools or 50% of your member institutions, which ever is less, subscribe.  Since we operate on a July 1 - June 30 fiscal calendar, we prorate the price for any partial year subscriptions.

Our pricing is based on an institution's undergraduate full-time enrollment figure and access is by annual license.   I have included the entire pricing schedule below for your convenience but bear in mind if your members join as a consortium they are automatically eligible for the minimum discount of 25% regardless of how many subscribe and could save as much as 35% of the price if 15 members or 50% subscribe.
