The Philosopher's Index™, produced by the Philosophers Information Center, is a current and comprehensive bibliographic database covering scholarly research in all major fields of philosophy. The Philosopher's Index, considered the most thorough index of journal literature on the subject, features author-written abstracts covering scholarly research published in journals and books, including contributions to anthologies and book reviews.
From EBSCO (20/12/07): A month ago, we sent out a message informing you that The Philosopher's Index, the most thorough index of journal literature pertaining to the study of philosophy, would soon be available via the EBSCOhost platform (early 2008).
Following our last email, we received a significant number of inqueries as to whether the database would be available for subscription as of January 1, 2008. We are pleased to announce that The Philosopher's Index is now scheduled to be released by the end of this week (several weeks ahead of schedule).
The Philosopher's Index includes nearly 570 journals from 43 countries with content representing a variety of languages. The database covers research published since 1940 and includes all of the major sub-fields of philosophy.
