NEJM.org strives to be a valuable resource for all Internet users. The article content on NEJM.org is published according to HTML and CSS standards. Our production process incorporates basic W3C accessibility features such as alternative text. As such, this core content, including all content presented in the weekly print journal, is legible to accessibility devices and readers.
NEJM.org also contains extras such as enhanced multimedia content (such as interactive graphics or modules, videos and audio summaries of Original Research Articles) and text content in alternative formats (such as PDF and PowerPoint), beyond replicating content presented in the print journal. The standard, recurring media feature Videos in Clinical Medicine is published with a synchronized transcript. We continue to investigate ways to increase accessibility of other media offerings without undue burden on our weekly editorial and production process. (21/11/15)
