The CAIRSS 2012 Community Days will be held in Brisbane on Monday the 19th and Tuesday the 20th of November, 2012.

The days are an event to meet with other CAIRSS repository managers and discuss topics of interest to the community. The program is designed to cater to both Repository Managers and Repository Technical Officers.

CAIRSS Community Day

Date: Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th November 2012.

Time: Monday 19th November: 10:30am – 7:00pm. Tuesday 20th November 9.30am – 4:00pm

Venue: Griffith University, Southbank Campus

About: In 2012 the Community Days will be held over two days, providing many opportunities for discussion and networking. The CAIRSS Community Days provide an opportunity for CAIRSS members to meet and to discuss common matters of interest. The program for the day will follow a similar format to previous Community Days, and is designed for both Repository Managers and Technical Officers.

Program:

The program for the 2012 Community Days will centre around topics which have been of interest to the CAIRSS Community over the previous twelve months. Topics include current developments in Australia, New Zealand and further abroad; research data management and its impact upon institutional repositories; strategic and collaborative institutional repository directions in 2012; Open Access updates including Open Access week reports; ARC and ANDS presentations; and what’s on in 2013.

Repository staff will have the opportunity to meet up with others during the Repository Software User Group meetings.

There will be a social function on Monday evening for delegates. Delegates will then be free to make their own dinner arrangements choosing from the wide variety of restaurants and cafes in the Southbank vicinity.

The draft program for the 2012 CAIRSS Community Day is available here.

Registration: Two (2) delegates from each CAIRSS member institution are invited to attend. Register by emailing your details to cairss@caul.edu.au.

Registrations close Friday, 2nd November 2012.
